Once upon a midnight dreary, Saturion laughed, wicked, weary
Over many a’forgotten slays and slaughters—
While he tore, nearly ripping, suddenly there came a tipping
As of someone gently kicking, kicking at memory’s door.
“‘Tis some nuisance,” he muttered, “kicking at memory’s door.”
“Only this and nothing more.”
Ah, distinctly he did render, the Cosmos Crown surrender;
And each separate dying member fought her most against him in the war.
And yet Tury continued kicking;— memory that won’t go missing
From within the harlequin;—sorrow for the lost before—
For the eager and frightened jester;
Dragon Shields did fester evermore.
Darkness there and nothing more.
Darkness there and nothing more.
And yet— Tury at memory’s door.
Redemption— the most elusive paramore.
