Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
Volume 1 of the Daevabad Trilogy
Nahri has never believed in magic. Although she possesses certain powers and is considered an exceptionally talented woman on the streets of 18th-century Cairo, she knows better. After all, she gets by only with cheap tricks and palm reading. But when Nahri accidentally summons Dara, a jinn warrior as cunning as he is eerie, she finds herself forced to change her views. For Dara tells her of scorching, wind-swept sand dunes teeming with fire creatures, of rivers where mythical beings slumber, of once-magnificent metropolises, of mountains where the circling birds of prey are more than they seem—and he tells her of the legendary city of brass —a city that exerts an irresistible pull on Nahri. But her arrival in this legendary world could reignite a war that has been smoldering for centuries. For within Nahri lie powers as untamed as they are brutal... and now they have been awakened.
An epic fantasy brimming with dazzling magic, powerful intrigue, unforgettable characters, and magnificent world-building.
