In the fourth season of the series "Stranger Things," some of the original characters move away from the small town of Hawkins, including Jonathan Byers, who heads to California. There, he meets Argyle, who drives a VW T3 van with the "Surfer Boy" logo on it.
The two take a bus trip across the entire western United States to round up the original group and save Hawkins. The sign belongs to a pizzeria where, later in the season, the monster Vecna is temporarily defeated.
