Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
An unassuming moviegoer, a village full of secrets, and children who should have disappeared long ago.
Hikari Shima works at a small movie theater in Hokkaido when, one day, she meets an unusually quiet young man: Juzo Sato.
He is reserved, mysterious, and comes from Kurazuchi, a remote village that people in the surrounding towns are conspicuously reluctant to talk about.
For Hikari, of course, that’s no reason to keep her distance. Quite the opposite.
After all, curiosity is a wonderful thing—at least as long as it doesn’t lead you to uncover the wrong secrets.
She secretly travels to Kurazuchi and attends a village festival there. What at first seems like a harmless celebration, however, takes a disturbing turn: Some of the children bear a striking resemblance to those featured in recent missing persons reports.
Coincidence? Hardly.
Disturbed, Hikari confides in her grandfather, who works as a police officer. But as she tries to get to the bottom of the villagers’ silence, Juzo urgently warns her not to investigate further.
Of all people, Hikari—the first girlfriend he ever had.
What is really happening in Kurazuchi? And why does the entire village seem to be keeping a terrible secret?
*A Suffocatingly Lonely Death*, Volume 7, opens up a new perspective on the Haikawa case following the shocking revelations of the first story arc.
Two timelines begin to intertwine as a mysterious diary links the past to the gruesome events of the present. Amid missing children, sinister village traditions, and a fragile friendship, a gripping mystery and psychological thriller unfolds.
Hikari really just wanted to get to know a quiet boy better. Instead, she discovers a village where apparently everyone knows something—and no one wants to talk about it.
Some secrets remain hidden for a reason. And some friendships begin exactly where you’d be better off turning back.
