25 Years of Carcassonne—and suddenly the meeples look like they’ve jumped right out of a retro video game!
A quarter-century of streets, cities, monasteries, and fiercely contested meadows: Carcassonne is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a very special anniversary edition! The beloved board game classic, which was named Game of the Year in 2001 and has sold over 12 million copies worldwide, is presented in a lovingly designed retro style.
The Carcassonne – 25th Anniversary Edition combines the tried-and-true gameplay with an extraordinary pixel art aesthetic. Redesigned landscape tiles, glowing pixel-style meeples, and numerous charming details cast the medieval world of Carcassonne in a whole new light.
The Middle Ages meets pixel art—welcome to Carcassonne 2.0!
Nothing has changed about the popular gameplay: Place landscape tiles next to each other, create roads, cities, and monasteries, and use your meeples as skillfully as possible to earn valuable points.
But this time, each game feels a bit like a journey back to the golden age of video games. The detailed pixel illustrations give this classic a distinctive retro charm and make the anniversary edition a real eye-catcher on the game table.
A special anniversary deserves special extras!
