Gunpla is short for "Gundam Plastic Model" and refers to the plastic model kits from the popular Japanese Gundam universe, manufactured by Bandai. The first Gunpla models appeared in 1980 and have been delighting model building and anime fans worldwide ever since.

The Gunpla Philosophy: Model Building for Everyone

Gunpla kits are designed so that they can be assembled without glue and usually without painting. The parts are already cast in color and can be easily snapped together. This makes them suitable for both beginners and experienced model builders.

The Most Important Gunpla Classes (Grades)

• HG (High Grade) – 1:144 scale, ideal for beginners and collectors.
• MG (Master Grade) – 1:100 scale, with detailed inner frame and higher level of detail.
• PG (Perfect Grade) – 1:60 scale, the most technically complex and detailed models.
• RG (Real Grade) – 1:144 scale, combines the size of an HG with the depth of detail of an MG.
• SD Gundam (Super Deformed) – Models with oversized heads and a cute, stylized design.
• Mega Size – Particularly large models in 1:48 scale.
