Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
The Story of a Deep Wound
Italian journalist Roberto Saviano was twenty-six years old when he published his first book, *Gomorrah*. The book, which sold 10 million copies worldwide, was a detailed account of the Neapolitan Mafia, the Camorra, whose organized crime tactics have permeated nearly every sector of the Neapolitan economy: government, infrastructure, haute couture, and drugs. After the publication of *Gomorrah*, Saviano’s life was constantly threatened by potential assassins, forcing him to leave his native Italy and live under constant police protection. For the first time, Saviano shares his thoughts and experiences from his early life in Naples, where he experienced the power and violence of the Camorra firsthand and where he now lives under guard once again.
In collaboration with award-winning illustrator Asaf Hanuka (THE REALIST, THE DIVINE), the author and artist explore a life behind armed guards in a prison of security, from which—using pen and paper—a remarkable escape and act of resistance against deep-rooted crime and corruption were achieved.
