Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
Hell—that's us.
A gambler, a private detective, a madman, and an artist meet in hell… What sounds like the beginning of a macabre joke is actually the setting for the Grendel story “Four Devils, One Hell,” the first story in the second volume of BEST OF GRENDEL. In the seething cauldron of New Orleans, writer James Robinson and artist Teddy Kristiansen skillfully weave together the perspectives of their four main characters into a blend of noir crime, drug-induced delirium, apocalyptic vision, and good old-fashioned horror.
From the heat of New Orleans to the icy hell of Antarctica: In “The Devil Among Us,” a research team encounters a lone Grendel warrior who wants to end his life. Shortly thereafter, they discover that they are cut off from the outside world, and the researchers begin to bleed to death for inexplicable reasons. Now the Grendel must decide whether to deliver the coup de grâce to himself or to help the others. Caught between mutual distrust and their dependence on one another, a battle for survival erupts—one that is both breathless and suspenseful, brought to life by writer Steven T. Seagle (Uncanny X-Men) and artist Paul Grist (Kane).
