Obsessed with controlling humanity for their own purposes, the forces of good and evil wage a secret war for the souls of mortals. In doing so, he fails to realize that Inarius—the secret prophet of the Cathedral of Light—is quietly aiding him in his endeavor. Obsessed with restoring his sanctuary to its former glory, Inarius uses Uldyssian as a weapon against the two great religions to bring them both down. But there is yet another player in the battle for the souls of mortals: the demoness Lilith. She was once Inarius’s lover and seeks to transform humanity into an army of Nephalem—god-like creatures more powerful than demons or angels could ever be. This force is meant to destroy creation and grant Lilith unlimited power. The fate of mortals seems sealed.
