Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
"Faust" by comic book veteran Barry Windsor-Smith
35 years in the making. Arguably the most anticipated graphic novel of our time: MONSTER. A 360-page tour de force of visual storytelling. Part family drama, part thriller, part metaphysical journey—an intimate portrait of individuals struggling to reclaim their lives. A monumental political odyssey spanning two generations of American history. The year is 1964. Bailey has no idea that he is about to seal his tragic fate when he walks into a U.S. Army recruitment office. Withdrawn, damaged, innocent—searching for both a past and a future. In short: Bobby is the perfect candidate for a secret U.S. government experiment… the horrific, godless continuation of a genetic program that began nearly 20 years earlier in Nazi Germany during the final days of World War II. Sergeant McFarland, Bailey’s only ally and protector, steps in as a chain of events is set in motion that spirals out of control for everyone involved. As the monsters multiply—whether real or metaphorical—this story culminates in a crescendo of moral reckoning.
MONSTER bears the hallmark of Barry Windsor-Smith’s (CONAN THE BARBARIAN, RED SONJA) impeccable pen-and-ink technique. With its sensitivity to gesture and composition, this visual narrative is arguably the most sophisticated work of Windsor-Smith’s career. We encounter passages of heart-wrenching tenderness, of unbearable pain... of redemption and self-sacrifice... of devastating violence—arguably one of the most intense graphic novels ever drawn.
