Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
COMICS, MURDER, AND POLITICS
Thirty years after the death of the vigilante Rorschach and the disappearance of the godlike Dr. Manhattan, a police investigator is tasked with uncovering the circumstances behind an assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Turley. The assailants: a young woman and a man who had disguised himself as Rorschach—both shot dead by the police! His investigation leads the detective to the front door of a man who also greets him wearing a Rorschach mask! And to the comic book artists Otto Binder and Frank Miller. But what do their works have to do with a political assassination and an impending new alien invasion? And how many versions of Rorschach are there, anyway? One thing is clear: the investigator is on the trail of a conspiracy that stretches far back into the past!
The Black Label features magnificent works in the tradition of BATMAN: KILLING JOKE—stand-alone comics for connoisseurs, newcomers, and casual readers. Award-winning writer Tom King (BATMAN, MISTER MIRACLE MEGABAND) and exceptional artist Jorge Fornés (BATMAN) present a fresh vision for the world of the classic comic WATCHMEN.
