Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.

I'll be a fucking sixty-six then. Un-believable!
When I was a child, I had the highest hopes for the 21st century. All those gadgets… rocket backpacks… robots… hovercars. Then I discovered the bomb. The bomb. And the future became unimportant and meaningless.
Now that the curtain is beginning to rise on the new millennium show, I’m surprised by a perverse desire to see the sequel to this crazy movie called humanity.
When it comes to the future, only one thing is truly certain: it will never turn out the way people imagine it will. Predictions are pointless. Reason and time will surpass and eclipse even the most ambitious clairvoyant vision.
The four stories I tell in *2020 Visions* are therefore intended to be neither futurology nor science fiction nor alternative history. In them, I depict small human dramas set against a post-millennial backdrop, in the United States of the near future—a future I have shaped according to my political views and personal biases, and which was then brought to life on paper by my artistic collaborators, all of whom are brilliant illustrators. 2020 Visions is about fear … murder and manslaughter … sex … love and hate … in short, the things that drive people. Because no matter how radically our technologies and cultures may change … it is people who provide the best stories.
2020 is never far away—it’s always just around the corner. See you then.

2020 Visions is to comics what 1984 was to non-graphic literature: terrifyingly prescient. This volume collects the 2020 Visions stories “Lebensgier” (art by Frank Quitely) and “La Tormenta” (art by Warren Pleece). “Deserteur” and “Repromann” follow in Volume 2.
