Demons, chainsaws, blood, and existential trauma are a thing of the past. Now Denji faces what might be his greatest challenge yet: school. Although—of course, that’s not entirely true.
Chainsaw Man 12 kicks off the second major arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s completely wild saga. Denji has now saved Tokyo from powerful demons more than once and is trying to experience something that has been completely denied to him until now: a somewhat normal life as a student.
But this time, someone else takes center stage at first. Asa Mitaka is a loner who gets along with her classmates about as well as Denji does with making sensible life decisions.
A fateful encounter eventually brings Asa together with Yoru, the War Devil. From then on, the two not only share a body—Yoru is also pursuing a very specific goal: to find and destroy Chainsaw Man.
This marks the beginning of a completely new chapter in the series. Everyday school life collides with demons, social disasters clash with supernatural violence, and somewhere in between, of course, Denji is still running around, continuing to try to finally make something halfway normal out of his life.
