Asa is supposed to kill Chainsaw Man. To do that, she needs a powerful weapon. And of all people, Denji might actually come in handy for that. Romance has had better prospects in this series.
Asa Mitaka’s life has been complicated enough ever since she’s had to share her body with Yoru, the War Devil. Yoru’s goal remains the same: to destroy Chainsaw Man and, to that end, create a weapon powerful enough to take him on.
The problem is this: the stronger Asa’s personal bond with a person or object is, the more powerful the weapon created from it can become. So Asa needs someone with whom she can build that kind of relationship.
And then there’s Denji.
While Asa has no idea that her somewhat peculiar classmate is actually Chainsaw Man, the two grow closer. What follows is a delightfully awkward mix of attempts to get closer, misunderstandings, and a date that, of course, can’t just stay a date.
Because it’s not just Yoru and her murderous plans standing between Asa and Denji. New demons also ensure that a perfectly normal school trip or afternoon spent together in this world can turn into a fight for survival at any moment.
Chainsaw Man 13 brings Asa and Denji closer together and turns—of all things—teen romance into the series’ next potential battlefield—uncomfortable, absurd, and wonderfully typical of Tatsuki Fujimoto.
