Denji wanted a normal life. Then his home goes up in flames, the world descends into chaos, and—of all things—Chainsaw Man once again becomes the only answer left to him. It seems normality is officially off the table.
The Chainsaw Man Church’s plans have devastating consequences. Everywhere, people are transforming into grotesque Chainsaw Man creatures, and Tokyo is sinking deeper and deeper into chaos. For Denji, however, the catastrophe takes on a terrifyingly personal dimension.
His attempt to lead a somewhat normal life with Nayuta is finally thrown into disarray. Amid angry mobs, demon hunters, and the machinations of Fami and her allies, there’s hardly a safe place left.
At the same time, the balance of power between Asa and Yoru is shifting. Fear of war is growing—and with it, the War Devil is gaining more and more power. What began as a mission to defeat Chainsaw Man is increasingly turning into a conflict whose consequences extend far beyond Denji and Asa.
Denji is finally faced once again with the very decision he had hoped to avoid: to keep trying to be an ordinary boy—or to pull the starter cord once more and become Chainsaw Man.
Chainsaw Man 17 brings the situation to a head. Denji’s desire for normalcy clashes with his identity as Chainsaw Man, while Asa, Yoru, and the various factions are drawn deeper and deeper into a conflict that seems almost impossible to control.
