Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
Alex Dengler, Germany’s leading book critic, denglers-buchkritik.de, September 30, 2013 George R. R. Martin has been writing *A Song of Ice and Fire* since 1996. A legendary fantasy masterpiece that will stand the test of time. Is George R. R. Martin on par with J. R. R. Tolkien? Definitely. The TV adaptation, *Game of Thrones*, has also blown all expectations out of the water; people had high hopes, but not for such a cinematic spectacle in the form of a television series.
Now the publisher is introducing the new release *The Judgment of the Seven*. It is supposed to be the prequel to *A Song of Ice and Fire*. Unfortunately, however, it’s a major letdown. Of course, Martin’s writing here is once again far above the fantasy average, but the story mentioned above, *The Hedge Knight*, is only one of three novellas in this book. It was already published in Germany in 1999. Also included are *The Sworn Sword*—first published in German in 2005—and *The Mysterious Knight*—a first publication.
