Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
Volume 1 of The Kunstwirker Chronicle
The Wars of the Gods are over—and this is what remains. A god has died, and now Tara, a new employee at the art-crafting firm Kelethres, Albrecht, and Ao, must bring him back to life before his city is destroyed. Her client is none other than Kos himself, the recently deceased fire god of the city of Alt Coulumb. Without him, the metropolis’s steam generators would fail, the trains would stop running, and the four million citizens would begin to riot. Tara must resurrect Kos before chaos breaks out. Her only help is Abelard, a chain-smoking priest of the dead god, who is understandably in the midst of a crisis of faith.
When Tara and Abelard discover that Kos has been murdered, they embark on a perilous quest for the truth that puts everything and everyone in mortal danger.
Cyberpunk fantasy at its very best!
Max Gladstone: With the Artworkers’ Chronicle, I’ve created a saga set in a post-industrial (and postwar) fantasy world where black magic is big business, wizards wear pinstripe suits, necromantic rituals are performed on dead gods, and everyday commerce is based on people trading parts of their souls for goods and services. The Artworkers’ Chronicle novels are both legal thrillers about faith and religious thrillers about justice and finance. There are also police forces with a collective consciousness, poetry-writing gargoyles, brainwashing golems, nightmare telegraphs, surprisingly likable demons, world-destroying magic, environmental destruction, and the deepest and darkest evil of all: BAFÖG. So, basically, everything just like in real life!
