Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
So many animals are going extinct—what can we do about it?
Lotta and Kalle are constantly seeing new, alarming news stories: bee deaths, endangered animals, plastic in the Mariana Trench and on the glaciers of Antarctica, rivers polluted by mines, forest fires... The children realize that even if the problems of climate change were solved, Mother Nature would still be in trouble! Climate change is just one part of an ever-escalating environmental crisis. How on earth can we survive all of this? The fossil goblin, who has now retired, suggests that Lotta and Kalle embark on a grand journey through time to search for the threads that connect the past with the present and might offer solutions for the future. With the Goblin as their guide, the children discover clues about the major changes life has undergone in the past and how life continued after major catastrophes. On their journey, they recognize the roots of the current situation, understand why finding a solution is so difficult, and learn how the human species has overcome past crises to survive to this day.
This standalone sequel to the bestseller HEY—WHAT’S GOING ON WITH THE WEATHER? is a much-needed nonfiction book that helps children—and certainly adults as well—better understand the crisis of mass extinction. HEY – WHERE ON EARTH DID THE ANIMALS GO? won the 2021 Tieto-Lauri Award in the category “The Best Children’s Non-Fiction.”
