Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.

A romantic date, a homemade cake, and a boy who really just wants to wait for his girlfriend. Sounds like a wonderful afternoon, doesn’t it? If only there weren’t someone secretly watching Rintaro…
A special bond has long since developed between Rintaro and Kaoruko, stemming from a chance encounter at Rintaro’s family’s café.
Yet the two could hardly come from more different worlds.
Rintaro attends an all-boys school with a notoriously bad reputation, while Kaoruko goes to a prestigious girls’ school where academic achievement and social standing are particularly important.
But despite all the prejudices and differences, the two have learned to appreciate each other for who they truly are.
A sweet gift with unexpected consequences
When Rintaro and Kaoruko arrange to go on a date, he wants to do something nice for her and surprises her with a cake.
A loving gesture that naturally delights Kaoruko!
So she doesn’t have to carry the cake around with her the whole time, she takes it home briefly. Meanwhile, Rintaro heads to a café where he plans to wait for her.
It’s actually a completely harmless plan.
But on the way there, Rintaro doesn’t notice that someone is watching him.
Who’s after him? Is the encounter just a coincidence, or is there more to it?
And could this unexpected situation affect his relationship with Kaoruko?
When the Past Meets the Present
Rintaro is used to being judged too quickly because of his intimidating appearance and his school’s bad reputation.
But from the very beginning, Kaoruko has seen past his facade and gotten to know the kind, honest, and caring boy hiding behind it.
That’s exactly why their relationship means so much to him.
As events surrounding their date unfold, it becomes clear once again how important mutual trust and the courage to confront others’ expectations and prejudices are.
Kaoru and Rin 08 continues Saka Mikami’s heartfelt romance, blending tender romantic moments with an unexpected twist.
A heartwarming story about love, trust, and the realization that you don’t have to let your reputation or other people’s expectations define you.
