This volume takes Wolverine on a journey through various stages of his damn long—and damn violent—life. We see Logan in the military in the 1950s, hunting a serial killer in the ’70s, and fighting a merciless battle for survival after the Weapon X project.
But that’s just scratching the surface of the adamantium.
After World War I, Logan smuggles alcohol, goes on a secret mission with Carol Danvers, actually tries his hand at a peaceful life as a farmer, and, of course, ends up as “Patch” in Madripoor—a place where “peaceful” is generally understood as little more than a non-binding suggestion anyway.
The stories come from various top Marvel creatives and present Wolverine exactly as we know and love him: uncompromising, tenacious, tragic, and with an astonishing knack for eventually turning even perfectly ordinary situations into a matter for his claws.
Visually, the volume relies on a striking combination of black, white, and vivid blood red—a style that could hardly be a better fit for Marvel’s most famous berserker.
