What happens when the greatest heroes of the Marvel Universe suddenly switch sides? Nothing good. Absolutely nothing good.
With Red Onslaught, a particularly nightmarish incarnation of Red Skull rises. His telepathic powers blanket the entire world in hatred—forcing the Avengers and the X-Men into a desperate battle against an enemy who can control not only bodies but also minds.
But then everything finally falls apart: A momentous event reverses the moral sides. Heroes discover their rather unpleasant dark side, while, of all people, some of the most notorious villains suddenly want to do the right thing.
This leaves the Marvel Universe facing a bit of a staffing problem: If the heroes are suddenly the villains—who’s actually going to save the world?
*Avengers & X-Men: Axis* brings together numerous Marvel greats in a massive crossover full of battles, surprising alliances, and completely reversed roles.
For fans of the Avengers, X-Men, Red Skull, major Marvel events, and stories where practically no one acts the way you’d expect them to.
Heroes are evil. Villains are good. Red Skull is even worse. Welcome to Axis—please wear name tags so at least someone can keep track of who’s who.
