Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
THE BEGINNINGS OF BATMAN'S APPRENTICE, ROBIN
Robin’s Earliest Adventures—a comic highlight from Batman legend Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty: With Dick Grayson, the optimism of youth enters the gloomy Batcave. But everything threatens to change when Batman’s young sidekick falls into the hands of the deranged Two-Face. A fresh retelling of Robin’s beginnings!
With *BATMAN: THE FIRST YEAR*, Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli presented a superhero comic classic in 1987 that remains relevant to this day. Not least, they established the concept of reinterpreting a hero’s origins—and indeed, “the first year”—in a standalone story with visually striking artwork. In this single-volume collection, the creative team led by Batman expert Chuck Dixon follows in the footsteps of Miller and Mazzucchelli, focusing on Dick Grayson’s first steps as Batman’s sidekick, Robin! But while Robin is earning his stripes, the ruthless Two-Face is plotting the death of Batman’s sidekick! This timeless, breathtakingly beautiful story from 2001 hails from one of the best eras for Batman and Robin.
