Marvel’s legendary kung fu series were absolutely revolutionary in the 1970s and pushed the boundaries of American comics, especially on an artistic and visual level. The stories selected for this volume captivated an entire generation of martial arts-crazy Marvel fans and quickly established Shang-Chi as a master of kung fu and an unconventional superhero with deadly hands. Shang-Chi’s earliest and most classic adventures were influenced as much by the martial arts films starring Bruce Lee as by the James Bond movies or the pulp magazines and crime paperbacks of that era.
