Our comics, manga, and books are standard retail items and—unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific item—are not sold as flawless collector’s items or graded copies.
All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.
If you place particular importance on the item being in the best possible condition or in its original packaging, please contact us before placing your order. We’ll be happy to take a closer look at the item you’re interested in and can send you photos in advance if needed.
Of course, statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
A New Cycle
In the early 1970s, SIMON VOM FLUSS appeared in the weekly newspaper Tintin. Its creator, Claude Auclair, was about to turn thirty and had not been working as a comic artist for very long. Nevertheless, his work *THE BALLAD OF THE REDHEAD* and its literary style—which echoed Auclair’s admiration for Jean Giono and his *SONG OF THE WORLD*—sparked a passionate debate among the newspaper’s readers right from the start. *CLAN OF THE CENTAURS* and *THE SLAVES* soon followed. Ten years later, in 1988, SIMON returned with a new storyline and a plot by Alain Riondet. A new cycle, a new tone: Claude and Alain share the same clear perspective on life and the world. The same attentiveness toward others. Even though both strive for distant horizons, their journey is directed more inward and toward self-awareness. The result is a clarity without compromise—a certain form of wisdom.
This anthology includes the albums *The Stone Circle*, *The Path of the Simorgh*, *Spring Storms*, and *A Simple Love Story*, as well as an unpublished 40-page dossier by Patrick Gaumer.
