All items from our online store are also part of our in-store selection. They are typically displayed unboxed on the shelves so that our customers can view and browse through them. If there are multiple copies of a title available, some of them may still be in their original packaging or shrink-wrapped.
Comics and books, in particular, sometimes arrive with minor signs of wear resulting from production, shipping, or storage—such as fine scratches, creases, or slight visual imperfections. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Over time, additional minor wear may also occur due to display in the store.

A traveling merchant, a mysterious wolf goddess, and the beginning of a journey in which trade might suddenly become a secondary concern.
Kraft Lawrence travels from place to place as a traveling merchant, pursuing a big dream: one day, he hopes to have earned enough money to leave life on the road behind and open his own shop.
With his horse-drawn cart full of goods, he arrives in the small village of Pasloe, where the annual harvest festival is currently being celebrated. At the center of the festivities is Holo, a wolf deity said to have watched over the village’s harvest for generations.
Normally, this isn’t something a pragmatic merchant would give much thought to.
That is, until Lawrence discovers a young woman with wolf ears and a bushy tail in his wagon that evening.
She introduces herself as Holo—Holo, the wise she-wolf of Yoitsu—and claims to be the very deity to whom the villagers dedicate their harvest festival. But times have changed, and Holo wants to return to her homeland in the far north. Without further ado, she joins Lawrence.
Thus begins an extraordinary journey through a medieval-style world full of trade, commerce, religion, intrigue, and clever negotiations—and a relationship develops between the down-to-earth merchant and the quick-witted wolf goddess, in which verbal sparring becomes at least as important as the next profitable deal.
*Spice & Wolf* Volume 01 blends fantasy and romance with an unusually strong focus on medieval trade and economics. Instead of constantly having to save the world, the story revolves around commodity prices, currencies, negotiations, and the question of whether Lawrence will ever have the last word against a centuries-old wolf goddess.
