New York, 1939: In a grim world full of gangsters, corruption, and violence, Peter Parker works as a private detective—and at the same time fights as Spider-Man Noir committed the crime while wearing a mask, hat, coat, and carrying pistols.
After breaking up with Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy shows up at Peter’s office. Her request is personal and dangerous: she wants him to find her father’s killer. The deeper Peter delves into the case, the closer he gets not only to Gwen but also to a deadly conspiracy. His investigation eventually leads him to the notorious Scorpion Gang.
This alternate Marvel universe combines Spider-Man with classic pulp crime fiction, a noir atmosphere, and a dark take on 1930s New York. The new story is directed by, among others, comic book legend Erik Larsen (Spider-Man, Savage Dragon) and Andrea Broccardo (Spider-Man).
